Countless composers have set the Latin prayer “Ave Maria” to music over the centuries, but none is more loved and performed than this setting, written in 1825 by the German Romantic Era composer Franz Schubert. As the original was written for solo voice it is appropriate that this arrangement is for an instrumental solo and will provide both the developing and musically mature soloist ample opportunity for expressive playing.
