I Will Sing of My Redeemer
"I Will Sing of My Redeemer" was the last song written by the proflific American gospel hymnist, Philip Bliss, before his death in a train accident. (Bliss survived the accident but died attempting to rescue his wife from the wreckage) The hymn was set to a spirited triple time rune by James McGranhan and became a favorite in many denominational hymnals. This solo (with optional duet) is arranged in a dospel-blues style that is true to the original tune while exploring the characteristic harmony and "riffing" of the blues idiom.
