Commissioner Edward Read first met The Salvation Army in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. An officer since 1946, he has held various appointments on local, divisional, provincial, territorial and international levels in corps, training college and administrative positins. A prolific writer and much sough-after teacher of holiness, the commissioner, now retired and living in Whitby, Ontario, with his wife, Doris, continues an active preaching, teaching and writing ministry both in Canda and abroad.
