Band Music for Evangelism
Edited by James Curnow
PrefaceThe 38th edition of the American Band Journal contains arrangements destined to become classics. While some of the music is technically challenging, the rewards will be worth the effort.
The intention to make this a journal of global interest is enhanced by the recognized international composers featured in this issue. Robert Redhead represents Canadian Salvationists with a fine march. David Catherwood submitted his lively cornet solo from his home in Northern Ireland. Kenneth Downie resides in England and has become one of The Salvation Army's most prolific composers. His arrangement of "Lord of All Hopefulness" has recently been recorded by the International Staff Band. And, from our own Eastern Territory, Harold Burgmayer has offered and exquisite arrangement of "Tis So Sweet to trust in Jesus."
Once again, we are grateful to James Curnow for serving as editor of this series.
