The counseling and aftercare of seekers
The Need for Christian CounselingGenerally speaking, anyone who makes a decision for Christ in a public meeting does so in response to the Holy Spirit. Occasionally, such a person has a clear idea of what he needs and what response he must make, but in most instances help is required to enable the seeker to have a clear understanding of his need and of the fact that Christ can meet it. Often, there are questions to be answered, problems to be dealt with and guidance to be given. Sometimes, the initial act of decision is a step into the unknown so far as the seeker is concerned and instruction is required in matters of faith. There are also seekers who kneel at the mercy seat wishing to resolve problems in their spiritual lives or in a desire for holiness; again, wise counsel can be invaluable to such people.
