A special happy time for many children in The Salvation Army and other churches is the weekly Sunday School gathering. Sunday School opening exercises are a time for freedom of expression and a time to learn to sing songs about Jesus and other Biblical figures. In The Salvation Army, it's a time to develop the young peoples' band into viable, confident, andiplined groups of Christian musicians.
These arrangements are meant to be easy and practical for even the youngest of musicians, but also to be useful to any brass group in the Sunday School setting and beyond.
Special thanks to Major Hollie Ruthberg for arranging these tunes in such a functional way. Major Hollie Ruthberg and her husband, Major Carl Ruthberg, Have been quality Salvation Army officers in the Eastern Territory for many years. Hollie is a music educator and a mentor. She has developed musicians wherever she has gone. This book is a special legacy of her committed work with young people.
