Band Music for Evangelism
Edited by Dorothy Gates
PrefaceThis issue of the American Band Journal features an interesting contrast of traditional hymns with contemporary praise songs. Trevor Davis' arrangement of Whites than the Snow for cornet and band is exquisitely poignant. Ralph Pearce's arrangement of the seasonal Easter song, Room at the Cross for You is both meaningful and practical. Dorothy Gates' arrangement of Lord, Reign in Me will prove popular with younger players and listeners. And, we welcome Andrew Mackereth as a first-time contributor to the American Band Journal and know that his arrangement of Above All will prove to be a useful tool in the mission of using band music for evangelism.
