Band Music for Evangelism
Edited by Dr. Dorothy Gates
PrefaceThe annual Christmas Edition of the American Band Journal continues to be a popular publication. In this issue you will find easily accessible music coupled with music that will need some rehearsing.
David Rowsell's prelude is a quick learn and affective opener for any Christmas program or service. James Cheyne's march, The Joy of Christmas, is a challenge and well worth the work. Stephen Bulla has arranged "Chocolate" (Spanish Dance) from Tchaikovsky's ever popular Nutcracker Suite. This music is well known and a band with competent musicians will find fulfillment in playing this classic.
Rounding out the journal is music with a Danish flair provided by Erik Silfverberg. Traditional Danish songs bookend a beautiful middle section treatment of "Silent Night".
Christmas is here again. Be blessed!
