Band Music for Evangelism
Edited by Dr. Dorothy Gates
Preface
It gives me great pleasure to commend to you the Spring 2006 edition of the American Band Journal, which is full of new and exciting music for bands. Our own Dorothy Gates' superb arrangement of I'm in His Hands beautifully blends Stanley Ditmer's original melody with new music by Phil Laeger. William Himes (O.F.) contributes an exceptional cornet duet based on the well-known and much-loved hymn, Great is Thy Faithfulness, and Dr. Harold Burgmayer's majestic hymn setting Fountainhead (Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing)) will also prove popular. Finally, the journal is complete with Thomas Mack's delightful march, The Ithacan, which celebrates 70 years of music tradition at the Ithaca, NY Corps.
