Band Music for Evangelism
Edited by James Curnow
PrefaceThis issue of the American Band Journal expands options for instrumentation by adding a "C Instrument I" part. It is our intent for this music to be practical for many church instrumental combinations as well as traditional Salvation Army bands.
We are pleased to introduce a new arranger, David Rowsell of Newfoundland, Canada, with his very approachable arrangement of "Bread of Heaven."
Also of note is the inclusion of a cornet solo based on a song by the father of Salvation Army music, Richard Slater. His beautiful melody related to his words is still meaningful nearly 100 years after its first publication.
