Band Music for Evangelism
Edited by Kevin Norbury
Preface
The Hispanic Population is the fastest growing segment of American immigration. With this growth has come exciting music. From Arturo Sandoval to Ricky Martin, people are enjoying the 'Latin' sound.
The Salvation Army certainly mirrors the cultural make-up of the country, so it has become apparent that it is time to try and incorporate these sounds into our band repertoire.
The composers included in this journal were each asked to write a piece in a Latin American style. Stephen Bulla, Harold Burgmayer and William Gordon are all well-known to subscribers of this journal and we welcome David Ayma, a Salvationist from Chile, to our list of Contributors.
As we reach the 200th published work in the American Band Journal, we trust this music will bring joy to performers and listeners alike.
